For six years, things have come out of the sky and taken people on a specific day. No one knows why. Riley Carver, sixteen years old, is done living in fear. Fear that she might also be taken by these things. When night comes on the day that they come, she finds herself being followed in her backyard. That’s it. She’s done with living in fear. She wants it dead. She gets her Daddy’s shotgun and aims for the thing’s head. She thought that she had killed it, but when she looks down, it isn’t something out of this world, it’s a human boy. And he thinks it’s 1956.
My rating: 4.5 stars
When I got this book, I had no idea what it was about. It turned out to be something really cool. I love the cover. The motorcycle made so much more sense after reading this book. Riley was a strong protagonist, she fought for what was right. Gabe was awesome. He added so much to the story. I liked how Adrienne combined present day and 1956. The references to 1956 were cool. I wish there was a prequel. Or a sequel. I’d even settle for a novella. There were a few questions unanswered at the end of the book that I really wanted answered. Overall, the book was amazing.
