Goodreads Synopsis:Tara Jenkins and Justin Westcroft used to be childhood BFFs. Now in high school, Justin’s a popular, all-star athlete, and Tara spends her days admiring him from afar. But when Tara saves Justin from nearly drowning in a freak accident, he’s unable to get her out of his mind. In no time at all, Tara and Justin fall deeply in love. And even though it’s only high school, they seem destined for a Happily Ever After.

Until tragedy strikes—and this time, Justin’s not so lucky. Tara passes through her days as a shell of her former self: Justin’s dead, but she can still feel his presence, and she can’t seem to let him go.

But there’s a reason for that, and it’s not just grief: Justin is In Between, and he’s still holding on.

Plot: 3/5 Stars

Okay. Let’s see…….. I liked the first half of the plot. The first half is the part before the unfortunate event. It was so much better written. In the first half, Tara goes to the pool and saves Justin’s life. It honestly could have been a really good contemporary if the second half hadn’t come.

Now onto the second half. This is when Justin is in the “in between”. This part I found to be really slow. I hated this half.

I kept dreading reading the rest of this book.

Characters: 2/5 Stars

Let’s start with Tara. Not a fan. I found her to be a little bit annoying and frustrating.

Now onto Justin. He wasn’t my favorite. Okay, so he didn’t even notice her until she saved his life. THEY HAD BEEN FRIENDS BEFORE SHE MOVED AND COME BACK. But yeah. He could have been friends with her again. He ended up creating a lot of unneeded problems for Tara though.

Luke was probably my favorite character in the novel. He was normal. NORMAL. He was such a nice person and I feel like his character got pushed aside. Luke was most definitely overshadowed by Justin. I feel like if Luke was more of a main character, the book would have been much better.

Cover Rating: 3/5 Stars

It’s a pretty cover, although it has nothing to do with the book.
