Synopsis from Goodreads:

Three royal houses ruling three interplanetary systems are on the brink of collapse, and they must either ally together or tear each other apart in order for their people to survive.

Asa is the youngest daughter of the house of Fane, which has been fighting a devastating food and energy crisis for far too long. She thinks she can save her family’s livelihood by posing as her oldest sister in an arranged marriage with Eagle, the heir to the throne of the house of Westlet. The appearance of her mother, a traitor who defected to the house of Galton, adds fuel to the fire, while Asa also tries to save her sister Wren’s life . . . possibly from the hands of their own father.

But as Asa and Eagle forge a genuine bond, will secrets from the past and the urgent needs of their people in the present keep them divided?

This book took me a tiny bit to read. Not because it wasn’t good, just because school has been insane.

Asa was an okay character. I could see where most of her actions where coming from, but even then, I wasn’t the biggest fan of some of her choices. I liked Eagle, but I really wanted more about him. I feel like he fell a bit flat. We didn’t learn too much about him so I’m hoping that we get more about him in the next novel. I feel like one of her sisters could have been a wonderful character if we had learned more about her also, but considering the circumstances, I understand why we didn’t learn too much about her.

The world building was sort of flat also. We never truly learned too much about the world. The plot was okay. The plot may have been my favorite part. A lot of stuff happens in this book. Like A LOT. I really liked the politics in the novel. The politics happen between different planets and their monarchies.

3/5 Hot Aliens
