What if you met your favorite author and they wanted to become friends? That’s what happens in this book which is basically a bookworm’s dream. And that’s what this novel was for me. I really loved this novel. It took me on the emotional journey that I was craving from a contemporary novel.

I think it was the plot that won me over. The premise drew me in and I knew right away that I had to read this book. There was never a dull moment within the novel. whether it was the suspense of Fatima’s newest novel playing out what had happened or the interviews leaving you to worry about what is currently going on within their lives.

I loved the format of this novel. The interviews showed us an insight into the past as well as what had been currently going on. It helped fill in a bunch of gaps that could have formed if the story had not been in this type of format. I feel like it made the story flow together better even though we were jumping around from interviews to Fatima’s newest novel that caused all the controversy. The one thing I was disappointed in but also not at the same time was the plot twist. I liked how it didn’t take the normal approach that an author would make and that shocked me a little bit. And that made me like the novel more because I love when a novel can shock me. I cannot wait to read Peñaflor’s other novel, Unscripted Joss Byrd, and whatever else she releases later on.

I highly recommend that you pick up this book!
