November 2016 Wrap Up

I apparently read four books in November. Considering that I used to read around 25 books a month, this is a really low number for me.

Carry This Book by Abbi Jacobson – This is a cute little table book about what famous people might carry. I ended up giving this book 4 stars.

Beastkeeper by Cat Hellisen – This book fell short for me. It was kind of just eh. It wasn’t what I was expecting. It might have been my fault for not really realizing it was middle grade until I started reading it, not that it should have really made a difference.

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling – I listened to this on Audible. Mindy Kaling is one of my favorite actresses/comedians. This book made me laugh and I loved it.

Lark by Tracey Porter – Yet another book that fell short for it. I couldn’t get into it. It just sort of seemed off for me.

That’s all I read in November. What did you guys read? Did you find a new favorite book last month?

Xx Sincerely,
Anna

Monthly Wrap Up

October 2015 Wrap Up

I read some really good books this October.

Werewolf Committee by CourageousReader

So this was a story on Wattpad. I have been reading a bunch of Wattpad stories lately. The story and plot of this one was actually pretty good.

I gave this one 4.5/5 Hot Aliens.

Nameless by Jennifer Jenkins

SO GOOD! I have a review of this up if you want to know my thoughts on it.

5/5 Hot Aliens

Rebellion by J.D. Netto

So good. I liked this better than the first book in the series. I felt like the plot progressed nicely.

4.5/5 Hot Aliens

Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together by Bryan Lee O’Malley

This is the fourth book in the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series. It’s sooooooo good! I think it’s my favorite graphic novel series.

5/5 Hot Aliens

Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher

I really liked this book. Which is really different than Natalie’s opinion.

4.5/5 Hot Aliens

Arranged by Julia Crane

This was a novella ARC I got from Book Con. The review should be up soon.

4/5 Hot Aliens

Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I’m so glad I finally read this. I should have a review or some post up for it soon.

5/5 Hot Aliens

Reread:

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

I’m currently rereading this series so I can finally read Queen of Shadows. I’m soooo excited to get to it.

5/5 Hot Aliens

What did you guys read in October?

Xx Sincerely,

Anna

Monthly Wrap Up

January and February 2015 Wrap Up

January

Books:

The In Between by Olivia Pierce – 2.5/5 stars

I truly did not enjoy this book. I found it boring and the characters were flat. The ending was confusing also. I have a review up if you want to see my full opinion.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell – 5/5 stars

This book was so good! I definitely understand the hype surrounding it. So many people have told me to pick up a Rainbow Rowell book and I’m so glad I did.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith – 4.5/5 stars

I thought this was a really interesting book. The premise of it sounds kind of cheesy, which I admit it was cheesy (but I was in the mood for it), but there was a lesson with family within the book.

Gone by Michael Grant – 3.5/5 stars

I buddy read this with Maria ( (bookloverwriter13 on youtube). We both thought about the same thing about the book. It was okay, but not great. So yeah. I really wish I had gotten this from the library, but I bought a few months ago before the buddy read happened. I’ve heard the series has some interesting aspects down the road, and by interesting, I mean I’ve heard some bad things. I’m not sure if I’ll continue.

The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel – 5/5 stars

I really liked this book. I thought the characters were great. The plot was very interesting.

Jessica Rules the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey – 4.5/5 stars

This was the conclusion to the Jessica (?) series. It made me really sad that it was over. I really want a book about what happens next with Jessica, Lucius, her friend (starts with an M I’m pretty sure but I can’t remember and Lucius’ cousin who’s name started with a R (Rainaro?).

Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan – 5/5 stars

This book was too cute. I loved the idea of putting a notebook in The Strand and daring each other.

The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines – 4.5/5 stars

This was the second New Adult book that I’ve read. The plot was interesting, although it sagged a tiny bit.

Ticker by Lisa Mantchev – 2/5 stars

How about we don’t talk about this? I think I have a review up. If not then, oops. I’m behind on posting reviews.

The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall – 5/5 stars

Such a great spy book. I had been craving a spy book for a while, so this definitely quenched the need.

Library Books:

Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent – 5/5 stars

I picked this up out of pure, “I should get another book from the library today”. I can’t believe I enjoyed it this much. My co-blogger, Tia, (Four Little Bookworms) really loves this series. I trusted her opinion and I’m glad I did.

Audiobooks:

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll – 4/5 stars

If I hadn’t listened to the audiobook, I would have loved this. Will be rereading soon. The audiobook I listened to was awful.

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan – 5/5 stars

The finale to the Percy Jackson. I think this might be my favorite. This or the fourth. The person who narrated this was really good and hilarious.

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani 3.5/5 stars

I really liked this, then the end came and it was weird. Like really weird.

Novellas:

The Wedding of Antanasia Jessica Packwood and Lucius Valeriu Vladescu by Beth Fantaskey – 4/5 stars

This was pretty good. I wish it was longer though.

Zombicorns by John Green – 4/5 stars

Zombies? Check. John’s unique writing? Check. The normal heart break he leaves us with? Nope. I mean, it was there I guess, but it wasn’t that sad.

Glitches by Marissa Meyer – 5/5 stars

Yay! Inside to past of the Lunar chronicles.

The Little Android by Marissa Meyer – 4/5 stars

Umm I would spoil it if I said anything.

The Queen’s Army by Marissa Meyer – 4.5/5 stars

Yes. WOLF’S PAST. It was so sad.

Turned at Dark by C.C. Hunter – 5/5 stars

Della is one of my favorite characters in the Shadow Falls series. I think she now has her own series also, which I need to check out.

Love is a Choice by Beth Revis – 4/5 stars

So I realized that I really want the first book. Like, right now.

Comic Books/Graphic Novels:

Lumberjanes #1 by Noelle Stevenson – 4/5 stars

Short and interesting. I found the storyline intriguing.

February

Books:

High-Stakes Heist by Courtney Carbone – 4/5 stars

This was a picture book. Captain America is one of my favorites.

The Pirate’s Wish by Cassandra Rose Clarke – 4/5 stars

A let down. Honestly, the only thing that kept me reading was the lion-griffon like thing (long confusing name for it).

Egermeier’s Bible Story Book by Elsie Egermeier – unratable

I Was Here by Gayle Foreman – 3.5/5 stars

I was so bored while reading this. My favorite character was Ben. When he wasn’t there it was boring. I found the book not to be shocking at all.

21 Proms by Various Authors – 4/5 stars

The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin – 5/5 stars

I sat down for about an hour and half for 3 days and read this. I could have read it quicker if Netflix wasn’t and if my puppy hadn’t been annoying.

Resignation by Amanda Thome – 4.5/5 stars

I have a review up because I actually did it on time! (I’m getting better with that). Yay! I really liked this book.

Florence by Ciye Cho – 4/5 stars

Review coming. I’m currently writing it so it should be up soon.

Library Books:

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks – 4/5 stars

I read this with my Goodreads friend Hansrox. We are both doing this yearly challenge.

My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent – 4.5/5 stars

Really good. Not as good as the first.

My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent – 5/5 stars

On the same level as the first.

School Books:

Ordinary People by Judith Guest – 3/5 stars

I had to read this for school. Boring at parts and the ending was awful.

Novellas:

SOS: A Prequel to The Silence of Six by E.C. Meyers

I really enjoyed reading this. I wish there was just a full book in the point of view of Evan.

Comic Books/Graphic Novels:

Marceline Gone Adrift (#1) by Meredith Gran 4/5 stars

I expected more. Extremely short.

Monthly Wrap Up

November 2014 Wrap Up

So in November I didn’t read much. It was kind of a busy month.

The Silence of Six by E.C. Myers

My Rating: 5/5 stars

My thoughts: I thought this book was really book. I have a review up if you want to know my complete thoughts about it.

The Girl In Between by Laekan Zea Kemp

My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My thoughts: I enjoyed reading this book. I have a review and giveaway up about this and the second book, so you should go check it out.

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

My Rating: 4/5 stars

My Thoughts: I thought this was a pretty good book. I loved it up until the ending. And then the ending ruined it. That’s why I gave it 4/5 stars instead of 4.5/5 stars.

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My Thoughts: I read this about a year after reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Really, like almost exactly a year later. I did really enjoy this book, but at first I was confused because I didn’t remember what exactly happened in the first one.

Short & Happy (Or Not) by Various People

My Rating: 4/5 stars

My thoughts: This is a good collection of short stories. I have a review up of this book if you would like to know more of my thoughts.

Whiter Than Snow by Matthew Eldridge

My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. It was really good. I have a review up if you would like to know more.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

My Rating: 3.5/5 stars

My Thoughts: I found this book to be disappointing. I had been reading this since June, when it came out. The way the plot went in this book was kind of boring and couldn’t keep my attention. And the ending. Wow. The person I was wanting to be with Alina changed during this book and I honestly just wasn’t satisfied by the ending.

Adventure Time Vol. 1 by Various Authors

My Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My Thoughts: I thought this was pretty good. I love Adventure Time so I knew I would really enjoy the graphic novel.

Monthly Wrap Up

October 2014 Wrap Up

October was an okay reading month. Lately, I’ve been feeling like I haven’t been reading anything, even though I’m reading some.

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarrie

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My thoughts: I read this with a Goodreads friend and it was really fun to read. The book had a ton of normal teenage problems and I loved the aspect of family on Noah’s side. I found this book to be highly intriguing and never boring. The beginning was a tiny bit hard to get into, but after I did, it was so easy to read. I really loved this book and I really want to read more of Katie McGarrie‘s books.

Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. I found that more action happened in this book. The other books were mostly just talk, and this had a lot of just talk moments, but at least something happened. I found Jacob to be a jerk in this book, but at the same time, I felt sorry for him. It’s like he never got a chance. Bella was less whiny in this book. I really enjoyed how the story went and it’s my favorite book in the saga.

Love and Other Unknown Variables by Shannon Lee Alexander

Rating: 5/5 stars

My thoughts: Just this book was so great. There were so many math jokes in it. The book was written beautifully and the characters were hilarious. I have a review, an interview and an organization post all about the book if you want to learn more about it.

William Shakespeare’s Star Wars by Ian Doescher

Rating: 4/5 stars

My thoughts: This book was pretty good. It definitely got me in a Star Wars mood. I talked about this a little bit in my Dewey’s 24 Read-A-Thon. I really enjoyed how funny it was. It was such a quick read and I’m definitely thankful my dad picked this out for my birthday.

Obstacles by Christopher Reardon

Rating: 4/5 stars

My thoughts: This book was every entertaining. It had a ton of action and it was a fun read. I have a review up if you would like to read more about this book.

The Archived by Victoria Schwab

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My thoughts: I really liked this book. The characters were awesome and I really loved the idea of the plot. It was kinda hard to get into at first.

Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Rating: 5/5 stars

My thoughts: Just as good, if not better, than the first one! It was so good. I can’t really talk about it since it is the second book.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Rating: 5/5 stars

My thoughts: So much more happened! It was so entertaining to read and the plot was great. I can’t talk much about this either because it is the second in a series.

Spearwood Academy One: Episodes 1-5 b A.S. Oren

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

My thoughts; I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written and so was the plot. I really enjoyed the dragon aspect of the book. I will have a review up soon.

Paradigm by Ceri E. Lowe

Rating: 3/5 stars

My thoughts: I wasn’t a big fan of this book. I almost gave it two stars, but Alice’s part of the book kind of saved it. I have a review up if you would like to learn more about it.
